PostSubject: Projected Lineups and injury update   Fri Oct 24, 2008 9:44 pm

Next Match: West Ham (A)
Out: Eduardo, Rosicky, Sagna

Wenger has confirmed that Toure and Gallas will be available to him for the trip to Upton Park. He is without Sagna however - hell likely make his return against Spurs in midweek. Wenger has plenty of options in midfield. Should Eboue start at right back then I would expect both Nasri, Walcott and Diaby to compete for starts in the wide positions with Diaby perhaps edging in front of Nasri with his performance on Tuesday. Song could replace Denlison in the centre with the Spurs game in mind. Van Persie looks a certain starter having been rested in that European game.

Predicted Lineup: Almunia; Eboue, Gallas,Toure, Clichy; Walcott, Fabregas, Song, Diaby; Van Persie, Adebayor.

Aston Villa
Next Match: Wigan (A)
Out: Bouma
Doubts: Agbonlahor, Carew

Agbonlahor remains a doubt having picked up a knee injury late on for Villa in their UEFA Cup win over Ajax on Thursday. Villa are hoping that its just a case of cuts and bruises but it looks likely that he will miss training before the game. If he misses out, then Milner will expect to keep his place as ONeill opts for the same 4-5-1 he used against Ajax. Carew missed that game through illness but should be available for this one. Cueller and Davies will fight it out for the spot alongside Laursen in central defence.

Predicted Lineup: Friedal; Young, Laursen, Davies, Shorey; Reo-Coker, Petrov, Barry, Young, Milner; Carew.

Blackburn Rovers
Next Match: Middlesbrough (H)
Out: Dunn, Reid
Doubts: Santa Cruz, Samba

Ince has concerns over the fitness of Santa Cruz and Samba - both of whom have failed to train so far this week. However, he does have a fitter, leaner McCarthy to call on up front and he could very well get a first start of the season in this one if Santa Cruz fails to make it. Fowler could well drop to the bench. Samba is expected to make it but Ooijer will stand by to replace him. Warnock is set to return to left back with Grella and Andrews competing for starts in midfield.

Predicted Lineup: Robinson, Simpson, Nelsen, Samba, Warnock; Emerton, Tugay, Grella, Villanueva; McCarthy, Roberts.

Bolton Wanderers
Next Match: Tottenham (A)

Megson has no reported injury worries going into the trip to White Hart Lane. Id expect an unchanged side then, with Taylor keeping his place on the left of midfield after impressing against Blackburn.

Predicted Lineup: Jaaskelainen, Steinsson, A OBrien, Cahill, Samuel; Nolan, McCann, Muamba, Taylor, Davies; Elmander.

Next Match: Liverpool (H)
Out: Essien, Ballack, J Cole
Doubts: Mineiro, A Cole, Drogba

Scolari welcomed back Carvalho and Cech on Wednesday in the Champions League and both are expected to start in this one. Deco also came back into the starting lineup against Roma. The Chelsea boss also revealed that Ashley Cole has returned to training and Id expect him to replace Bridge at left back. Joe Cole is out, as is Drogba who will need another week to ten days according to Scolari.

Predicted Lineup: Cech, Bosingwa, Carvalho, Terry, A Cole; Mikel, Deco, Lampard, Malouda, Kalou; Anelka.

Next Match: Man United (H)
Out: Jacobsen
Doubts: Castillo, Anichebe, Yobo, van der Meyde, Hibbert
Banned: Cahill

Moyes has Yobo, Anichebe and Castillo back in the frame for the visit of United. Yobo has recovered from flu, while the other two return from hamstring injuries. Hibbert has picked up an ankle injury and is a doubt so Neville is set to earn a recall at right back, with Rodwell keeping his role in midfield. The Everton boss must be tempted to hand a start to ex-United man Saha up front and that could come at the expense of Yakubu with Everton unlikely to go with two up top.

Predicted Lineup: Howard; Neville, Lescott, Jagielka, Baines; Rodwell, Fellaini, Arteta, Osman, Pienaar; Yakubu.

Next Match: Portsmouth (A)
Out: Kamara
Doubts: Etuhu

Hodgeson once again, has few injury concerns going into the trip to Portsmouth. Etuhu is nearing fitness and could figure but it should be an unchanged lineup again for Fulham.

Predicted Lineup: Schwarzer, Paintsil, Hughes, Hangeland, Konchesky; Davies, Murphy, Bullard, Gera; Johnson, Zamora.

Hull City
Next Match: West Brom (A)
Out: Fagan, Stelios
Doubts: Gardner, Stelios, Barmby

Brown has no new injury concerns going into the trip to the Hawthorns but has hinted that he may shake things up for this one. Gardner, Stelios and Barmby are all nearing fitness but will likely need another reserve outing before coming into contention. He may consider matching West Broms likely formation and shifting to a 4-5-1. That would likely see Hughes or Garcia come into the side with Cousin possibly dropping to the bench.

Predicted Lineup: Myhill; McShane, Turner, Zayatte, Dawson; Geovanni, Ashbee, Marney, Boateng; Cousin, King.

Next Match: Chelsea (A)
Out: Skrtel, Torres, Degen
Doubts: Keane, Alonso, Gerrard, Babel, Torres

Robbie Keane is currently the big worry with a groin injury sustained in the Champions League tie with Athletico on Tuesday. Alonso and Gerrard are both fit however. Kuyt will surely be restored having been benched on Wednesday and he could be up front on his own if Keane fails to make. Gerrard is likely to be pushed up with him with Pennant or Benayoun wide on the right. Babel is reportedly struggling for fitness but should make the bench. Torres wont be risked but could be back against Portsmouth on Wednesday.

Predicted Lineup: Reina; Arbeloa, Carragher, Agger, Dossena; Riera, Mascherano, Benayoun, Alonso, Gerrard; Kuyt.

Man City
Next Match: Stoke City (H)
Out: Vassell, Bojinov, Petrov, Johnson, Benjani
Doubts: Richards
Banned: Zabaleta

Richards is a major doubt for this one so Onuora could well earn a starting role in a makeshift defence, which is also without the suspended Zabaleta. Elsewhere, Id expect Elano to earn a recall to form a more attacking midfield with Hamann making way.

Predicted Lineup: Hart, Onuora, Ben Haim, Dunne, Garrido; Kompany, Wright-Phillips, Elano, Ireland, Robinho; Jo.

Man United
Next Match: Everton (A)
Out: Foster, Scholes
Doubts: Carrick, Hargreaves

Ferguson has confirmed defensive trio, Evra, Ferdinand and Neville are all fit and available for the trip to Goodison. Neville could still be rotated with Brown or Rafael, having started against Celtic on Tuesday. Elsewhere, Carrick is back in training but this one will come too early for him. He should be in contention for the visit of West Ham on Wednesday. Tevez is due a start but could be saved for the midweek home encounter with former club West Ham. Id expect Park to be restored to the side with Nani making way. Ronaldo and Berbatov are both fit after picking up knocks on Tuesday.

Predicted Lineup: van der Sar; Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra; Park, Anderson, Fletcher, Ronaldo; Rooney, Berbatov.

Next Match: Blackburn (A)
Out: Bates, Hines, Williams, Arca, Huth
Doubts: Tuncay, Hoyte

Southgate has threatened changes after a humiliating performance against Chelsea. Pogatetz returns from suspension and is set to be restored to the defence. Hoyte is back in training but will miss out again here so Wheater will likely shift to right back with Grounds dropping out. Id expect Alves to return to the starting lineup having been benched last time out. That should see Aliadiere return to the right with Johnson making way. Tuncay has made progress with his injury and could figure from the bench. Digard is expected to come into the midfield with Shawky likely to drop to the bench.

Predicted Lineup: Turnbull; Wheater, Pogatetz, Riggott, Taylor; Aliadiere, Digard, ONeil, Downing; Mido, Alves.

Next Match: Sunderland (A)
Out: Viduka, Smith, Owen
Doubts: Gutierrez, Butt

Barton returns from suspension and is available to Kinnear, while Beye has also been given a reprieve after his ridiculous red against City was overturned. Barton is pushing for a start after returning from a six match ban but is short of match fitness. A foot injury to Butt however, could give Barton a route into the starting eleven. Gutierrez is expected to play some part and could replace Geremi in midfield, although Id expect him to start on the bench. Owen is out and wont return until the Villa clash on November 3 according to Kinnear.

Predicted Lineup: Given, Beye, Taylor, Coloccini, Bassong; Butt, Guthrie, Geremi, Duff; Martins, Ameobi.

Next Match: Fulham (H)
Out: Kranjcar, Kaboul
Doubts: Diarra, Hughes, Traore, Johnson, Little, Johnson
Banned: Davies

Sean Davis misses this game through suspension after his red received against Villa. Diarra will remain a doubt having missed Pompeys UEFA Cup tie on Thursday with his knee injury. Little and Traore both limped off in that one and will also be doubts. Traore is due a rest so that could see starts for Belhadj and Utaka will come into contention in the wide positions. Johnson is expected to return from the pelvic injury that kept him out of the Braga defeat. Hughes should be fit to come into contention in midfield which could see Diop shifted to the right.

Predicted Lineup: James; Johnson, Campbell, Distin, Pamarot; Diarra, Hughes, Diop, Belhadj; Defoe, Crouch.

Stoke City
Next Match: Man City (A)
Out: Davies
Doubts: Lawrence, Sorensen, Sonko

Pulis has concerns in goal with Sorensen suffering a nasty eye injury against Spurs. He is available but may well be spared with Simonsen earning a starting role. Sonko is a doubt, while Lawrence is set to miss out again with his pet-related ankle injury. Fuller is expected to start up front after showing up well from the bench against Spurs. Sidibe will make way.

Predicted Lineup: Simonsen; Higginbotham, Cort, Sonko, Griffin; Am Faye, Olofinjana, Delap, Soares; Fuller, Kitson.

Next Match: Newcastle (H)
Doubts: Jones

Kenwyne Jones is touch and go for this one. He returned for an hour in the reserves on Wednesday but with Keane hinting that he wont rush the striker back, Ive a feeling that he could start on the bench, if at all, here. Chopra could well keep his place against his former club then. Nosworthy is fit and looks likely to return and should come in for Collins alongside Ferdinand. Miller and Yorke also return to the squad the latter could well come into teh starting lineup for Reid.

Predicted Lineup: Gordon; Chimbonda, Nosworthy, Ferdinand, McCartney; Whitehead, Yorke, Malbranque, Richardson, Chopra; Cisse.

Next Match: Bolton (H)
Doubts: King, Huddlestone, Pavlyuchenko
Banned: Bale, Dawson

Bale is suspended for this one having received a straight red against Stoke last weekend and Dawson is also banned for his red in the same match. Woodgate and Corluka are both available however, while Ramos could also call on King, although that looks unlikely after he started the defeat at Udinese. Pavlyuchenko is eligible to return after being cup-tied in that game but he will face a fitness check on an ankle injury. Bentley is back in the squad having been left out altogether on Thursday but Ramos could leave him on the bench and hand Campbell a start.

Predicted Lineup: Gomes, Hutton, Corluka, Woodgate, Assou-Ekotto; Zokora, Jenas, Modric, Lennon, Campbell; Bent.

West Brom
Next Match: Hull (H)
Out: Clement, Kim, Meite, Teixeira

The Baggies will once again be without Meite at the back for the sixth successive match so Donk and Olsson are set to continue. Teixeira is also out having stalled in his comeback from a long term injury. Mowbray could be tempted to shift from a 4-5-1 to a 4-4-2 with Miller displacing Brunt in the lineup.

Predicted Lineup: Carson; Zuiverloon, Olsson, Donk, Robinson; Morrison, Greening, Valero, Koren, Brunt; Bednar.

West Ham
Next Match: Arsenal (H)
Out: Dyer, Gabbidon, Spector, Ashton, Noble
Doubts: Collins

Zola could well be tempted to shake things up having slipped to defeat at Wigan. Di Michele and Sears are also pushing for starts up front but Tristan is still not fit and wont figure. Mark Noble is out for four weeks with a calf injury, so Mullins is set to start here. Zola could change his system and revert to a 4-4-2, shifting Etherington back to a traditional left wing role.

Predicted Lineup: Green, Faubert, Neill, Upson, Ilunga; Mullins, Parker, Behrami; Etherington, Bellamy, Cole.

Next Match: Aston Villa (H)
Out: Edman
Doubts: Heskey
Banned: Valencia

Valencia misses this one through suspension after his red for two bookable offences as Anfield last weekend. De Ridder is set to come in on the right of midfield then. Heskey should be fit to make a return up front having missed the game at Anfield. That should see Bruce revert to 4-4-2.

Predicted Lineup: Kirkland; Melchiot, Scharner, Bramble, Figueroa; Palacios, Cattermole, De Ridder, Kapo; Zaki, Heskey.

Having already used my wildcard I had to make three transfers this week, will cost me 8 points. Was only going to make 2, but Ireland is going up tonight and I would not have been able to afford him next week.
